Sisters are they, the neighbors you see
Cousins are we, their children born free
Who gets to keep the ancestors' crown
Is the family feud that keeps them apart
One has it as crown; One will use it as shoes
Yet both of them wish to claim it as own
Bring home new crowns by victories won
While fighting the foes, say the sisters of steal
If it pleases dear Mothers that we remain as worse foes
Let's pretend so dear brothers but exchange our crowns
As we part our ways to rush back to our homes
Let's promise ourselves to return very soon
We will give Mom a hug as she kisses the crown
Not knowing it's yours, that will sure make her frown
Across the miles, beyond country lines
Our secret is safe with the stars of the night
No borders dear brothers, no feud dear sisters
Not even our Mothers can keep us apart
If we all believe it won't be too long
For the sisters once dear to share in our JOY!
P.S: Who are these sisters and who are these cousins? If at least one person gets it right, I will consider it a huge milestone for me...

beautifully and wonderfully written.
congratulations!
working on solving the riddle.
Beautifully written and great message. Bikram will say the same.
Amma & A! You didn't quite guess who I am talking about. Any takes?
Are u talking about India and Pakistan?..just a wild guess..
If the poem is about India and Pakistan, Kashmir is the crown. If the citizens on either side really love each other as brothers and sisters, then the poem is picture perfect. But I think the Kashmir issue will always be there in their hearts which is natural and normal. Each side, every citizen wishes to have the crown for his mother.
very beautifully penned message....
and it seems that the riddle has all ready been solved here.
How cleverly done.
:) he he Amrit knows me so very well :) but I could not figure out what the riddle was ..
I am not quiet understanding about the whole india=pakistan issue my views are very ALARMING and disturbing for some :) so i will not say anything
Bikram's
amazing job.
you are really blessed with talent dear.
it is not easy to express such thoughts in a poem but you did it wonderfully.
wishing you very best of luck for each dream in life god bless.

I was going to say about India-Pak but my theory is less we talk about it better it is. Constantly reminding history and/or constant talk about reconciliation only MAKES THINGS BAD.
Indeed the riddle is solved! Thank you!
My reasoning is, the political issues aside, we -the citizens - can still come together as brothers and sisters...
I knew it was about India and pakistan and I dont think we can ever be very close, instead if we just try to be civil and not have hostilies,it will be good enough.
and the winner has no prize? :P
Beautifully written...
Tomz! Of course the winner gets a prize - how about a Guest Post on NRIGirl blog?!
See, I am still trying to benefit from it :)
I am really truly happy you guessed it right. Thank you for that.
Absolutely loved it. Very well said Queen!!
