Wow, isn't that a cool title; thought so too.
Ok now coming to the subject, if you ever need to travel from the East Coast (USA) to Trivandrum (India) and ask me which airlines is the best option, I would suggest Qatar airlines.
From JFK International Airport non-stop (12 hrs) to Doha, Qatar with a connecting flight to Trivandrum (5 hrs). The transit time at Doha is less than 2 hours, just enough time to switch aircrafts. In less than 20 hours of flying time you will be landing in the beautiful seashores of Trivandrum. Can it get any better than that? I didn't think so either.
The food is good and you get a cute little travelers pouch with travel necessities - I don't think many other airlines offer it any more.
True, just recently I had written high of Continental's non-stop flight but that is for traveling to Bombay or Delhi, not Trivandrum.
So, Trivandrum folks, Tirunelveli folks and those from in between, try Qatar Airways and let me know how you like it.

I never travel through Doha. Only once in lifetime, I traveled via Dubai and it was not good. I am just scared to travel via Qatar.
Afraid of what? Is there any political issues in Qatar? I am not aware of any.
Will not have an opportunity to travel from East Coast to Trivandrum. So, I will take a pass.
Afraid of just going through the airport - being Indian...potential bad treatment, don't know what they are going to check.
Dubai experience was not good. They treated Indian and Sri Lankans very bad.
Oh! Is it?! We have never experienced anything like that though upon entry into the United States we were once asked why we chose to fly certain airlines. We answered, convenience!
See, SG & A! This is what I love about your comments. You will always come up with a sweet and simple sentence to let me know you just read the post...
Thank you for that!

NRIGirl,
I have read your post but it is highly unlikely I will take Qatar airline... I go to Delhi and usually Continental or American works okay.
Sounds good ,will keep in mind :) Mostly we used to travel by BA but once for a change opted for France Airline and it was a very pleasant experience (specially the free breakfast on airport before catching up the connecting flight).
yeah i actually find them good, it doesnot bother me what airline but i have travelled on qatar once Via doha , though the airport was a bit shabby but as you said the inflight was goood ...
and its cheap too.. cheaper then a lot of flights.. i went on to mumbai on the airline for a mere 197pounds once ... Not bad hainnn
i never got any chance to travel from New York to Trivandrum..but what i know is the Qatar airlines is the Best Middle Eastern Airline and it is also the best when it comes to customer satisfaction..
Most of the airports in Gulf countries have separate channels for their nationals and then for Americans and Europeans.I know in Saudi they treat Asians very badly. In Dubai they ignore Asians, because they made it easy for Americans.I had written once on the discriminatory behavior of flight attendants. They are good to people who travel to US or Europe, but rude to the poor who travel from gulf countries to India. The truth is, most of these airlines survive because of the gulf sector. But there is no doubt that they are treated badly.
I don't know much about Qatar Air.For that matter I don't care which airlines I fly,so long as the time and pricing suits me.
You are right pal. Qatar Airways service is really good. Even from ME to Trivandrum...
With all due respect to Dr. Antony..
I feel the way flight attendants behave is partly the travelers fault. I have witnessed so many so called Indian guys who get drunk on board as if they have never seen liquor and then create nuisance to those around them. Some of them act as if they are kings.
I travel 3-4 times to India a year and except for few rare instances the staff were always courteous and helpful.
