Head over heart

Last couple of days I wasn't myself. I was thinking more with my head and not with my heart. This was very strange for me. Didn't like it a bit.

Even in my prayers the head came in between; the words appeared to come from the head and not much the heart. It was kind of void of any feelings or true meaning.

Anyways, I am back to my normal self today as I don't hear much of my head in the background anymore. This comes as a huge relief. This softens me! Helps me breath better! I can now feel more and reason less.

Noticed that head-heavy made me proud and heart-heavy makes me not. Head reasoned 'why should I' and the heart ponders 'why shouldn't I'. Head defends; heart accepts. Head was stubborn; heart is fluid.

I wonder what causes the shift between head vs. heart and how do we balance them both?

Googled articles mostly refer to relationships and talk about emotional vs. logical people. But what I am talking about here is, nothing specific, just in general, when or why our head overtakes the heart or vice versa.

Can you relate to anything similar? Thought I would check with you...

Yes, this happens often. The struggle between the head and the heart. The head always wins, but the heart is always right. :)

Head vs. Heart. I could never understand the difference. For men it is the same. I will tell you why...Heart proposes head disposes. But in case of men, men's heart proposes, wife's heart or head disposes....so it does not make any difference.

Yes , indeed often. Cannot remember exact subject or moment.
The heart I think does not waver , it is static in its perception, it is different in each person. Like we say heartfelt fellow and heartless one etc.
And I think brain perhaps is more out of conditioning, that it reasons or not.

To have a level ground were the heart and the brain works in tandem or in unionism or even one complimenting the other- can that happen? I think it must have happened to me.

Oh come on early in the morn my brain is getting restless trying to figure out. It tells stop it and move on. But heart says I must try to find a reasonable answer to your question. Oh ya now I'm in suspended animation- cant tell but want to. So I leave it to figure out later or to you itself. bye.

Yes ,it happens to all of us .I mostly listen to my heart but then there have been times when listening to my head has saved me from troubles.I do wonder what is it that helps us deciding whom to choose -- is it head or the heart ?

Is it something to do with our fluctuation hormones?

Good to have you back.. But in my experiences I do feel that thinking from heart is not good ..

People who think from HEAD are always better off.. and I do try COnsciously these days to make sure I put my HEAD into it and not my heart..

I been throguh all jsut cause of that :)

but heart never lies and usually the first reaction is the right reaction :)

Take care and SMILEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeee :)

That was an immense heartfelt response from all of you! Thank you in abundance!

@A! I am surprised no one came after your comments.

@Anil Sir! I could visualize your 'suspended animation' which brought a smile to my face.

I am relieved to hear I am not alone in this head vs. heart race...

NRIGirl,

What do you mean 'no one came after your comments'?

I'd thought some girls might argue over the comment that the wife's head & heart dispose whatever their spouses propose ...

NRIGirl,

My logic is sound and beyond discussion. Girls are intelligent so they stayed away from this discussion.

That’s a big tussle…
If I summarize in the words of Blaise Pascal, heart has its reasons that reason doesn’t understand…

"Head reasoned 'why should I' and the heart ponders 'why shouldn't I'". This could be the very reason they say; "life is impossible without trust" Remember the Metallica song, ;"Trust I seek and I find in you..." :)
