Saving my Face on Facebook

I agree Facebook is good to find long last friends. But I am upset that it tracks each and every trace I leave behind. Whose wall I wrote on, who I added as my latest friend(s), whose pictures I commented on... etc  What is it?! Why would I want the whole world to see this? And as far as I have searched I don't think it is easy to erase all my older posts... It is so annoying.

Also these days everyone walks around with a digital camera and they 'click' you even when you are not posable and before you know it ends up on Facebook. I hate this.

I want to be on Facebook; but only if I can just be me, wishing people on their birthdays, liking someone's status update, commenting on a picture, writing on a wall etc - without announcing my whereabouts to the entire world...

If only Facebook would help me save my face...

Nice post. There is good and bad about Facebook. I decided to stay away from Facebook.

That's exactly my plan - stop being a regular there...

Camera's I will go upto them and take the camera away .. simple thats wat i do .. they know for next time .. its indeed a encroachment on privacy .. dont know how to get over it ...

and as the comments say dont put anything personal or have a account jsut for a slected people with hwom u want to share personal stuff.. that way no hassel :)

Very true..To add to users' woes, FB keep changing
its privacy policy every few months. And every time all information becomes public by default.
The user is expected to customize his/her settings
to make them private, which is totally unethical.
All said and done, none of these have managed to
get me de-addicted from Facebook :)

Nice idea Bikramjit! To have a separate profile for close family and friends... Thank you!

Hi Latha Nair! Welcome and thank you for stopping by.

I agree, it is very typical of FB to reset eveything to Public.

It has been only a few months and already I want out! Let's see...

It is not fair. I had written a blog on FB and was going to publish next.....almost similar contents with some more on privacy...

Good job.

One thing to add:- FB can also be called institutionalized SPAM....because too many people posting links that no one else reads.

SO whatever you did even though can be traced but spam takes over...hahah

That's interesting @A! Please post yours too - which will make it all the more fun...

For the moment, I dropped the idea of a post on FB. FB is not that important. Enough said already. Hahaha
